Rabat - A total of 10,240 new cases of coronavirus infection (Covid-19) and 8,529 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, the health ministry said on Saturday.
The number of first-time vaccines is 16,240,404, while that of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) stands at 11,389,655, the ministry said in its daily bulletin on the Covid-19 situation.
The new report brings to 752,076 the total number of contaminations since the first case reported in Morocco in March 2020. The number of people recovered has risen to 657,958, or a cure rate of 87.5%.
New contaminations were identified in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (2.994), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (2.111), Marrakech-Safi (947), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (831), Oriental (767), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (724), Souss-Massa (567), Drâa-Tafilalet (460), Fès-Meknès (378), Guelmim-Oued Noun (237), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (113) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (111).
As for deaths, their total number rose to 10,933 (lethality 1.5%), with 110 new cases recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (26), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (15), Marrakech-Safi (11), L'Oriental (11), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (10), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (10), Souss-Massa (10), Drâa-Tafilalet (8), Fès-Meknès (6) and Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (3).
The active cases number 83,185, while severe or critical cases reached 2,242, of which 68 were placed under intubation.
